You can be a forum member without an e-mail address, you just won't receive any updates through mail anymore. And you won't be able to change your password, because that is being sent through e-mail as well.

But why would you loose your e-mail?
As Beautiful Soup says: just get another one... (gmailis free...)

I wish he hadn't left. It's not like he'd have to look at or give his e-mail out to anyone if he got a free account. And even he didn't get another one, couldn't he just post as a guest?

Hi guys. This is the person formerly-known-as-Treacle. My family got a 4G Mobile Hotspot device, so I have Internet access again. I want to come back to the forum, and I may. I've been using the off-time from the Internet to re-do the Rolen Alice as an ebook, probably as a Google book. If that goes well maybe I'll feel worthy of the forum again.

So.. the email address wasn't the problem, it was the fact that you didn't have internet access?

Your account still exists, so you can log in with your old password and just continue using it.

I'm back. I had to register again, since I had to get a new email address (got it yesterday). I asked for "Treacle2" on the forum, for continuity and so I could remember it.

My dear Treacle, why do you insist on making it so hard for yourself?
As I told you before, your account doesn't suddenly stop working if you get a new email address. Just log in into your account with the name and password you always used, go to your profile page and change the email address that is listed there!

If you want, I can do it for you as well. And then I'll integrate your new account with your old one, so you won't lose the posts you just made with the new account.

I don't remember the old password, and the password recovery program emails to the email address in that profile, and it is forbidden to use that email address for personal email anymore. (It was risky business when I emailed you in August from that account.) That's why I registered again using the new gmail account after I had Internet access again.

I didn't stay away from the forum because I wanted to. I dropped out because I had to. (If I sound anxious in explaining this, I humbly apologize.)
