Evertype: Alice in Wonderland in Mennonite Low German!

Evertype would like to announce the publication of Jack Thiessen's translation of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland into the Mennonite Low German language, Dee Erläwnisse von Alice em Wundalaund. “Wäa best Du?” fruag de Rup.

Dit wea tjeene mootje Enleidung fe eene Unjahoolinj. Alice auntwuad, een bät schuchta, “Etj—etj weet, affens nich kratjt nu, Sir—oba etj wißt wäa etj wea auls etj zemorjess oppstund, oba etj jleew, etj hab mie seit dann een poah Mol ve-endat.”

“Waut haft dann daut too bediede?” fruag dee Rup strenj. “Ertjläa mie mol, waut daut bediet.”

“Etj kaun mie nich ertjläre,” säd Alice, “enn etj hab een bät Schizz, wiels etj nich sie wäa etj sie, vesteihst Du?”

“Daut vestoh etj nich,” säd de Rup.

“Daut deit mie leed, oba etj kaun daut nich kloara toom Utdruck brinje,” Alice gauf seea heeflich Auntwuat, “wiels, fang wie mol wada von Väahre aun, wiels wann eena enn eenem Dach soo foaken tjlanda enn jrata woat, dann brinjt eenem daut seea derjchenaunda.”
