Alice Liddell signed copy of ALTG on ebay

Postby madcheshirecat » Fri Jan 06, 2006 6:09 pm

Hello
Has anybody seen this copy being offered on ebay?

[edit by admin] Welcome to the forum! I moved your topic to the miscellaneous Alice forum, as this topic is not a discussion about the story itself :)

I suppose you mean this link?

It is remarkable, to say the least. The seller appears to be a genuine book collector and not a fraud, judging by the feedback he got and left, but whether the autograph is real is another issue. The big question is ofcourse where he got the book.

The date (1872) is correct, and the publisher (MacMillan) as well, so it could be a first edition of TTLG... I know Carroll liked the dark red color as well for the book's cover.

The value of the book of course depends a lot on the condition the book is in as well.
Do I see newspaper articles that are glued into the book on those pictures?
