I was taken to see an Alice in Wonderland movie in the early 70's which made me believe that I saw the 1972 film from the UK, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland, but there was a particular song that I remember because I bought an album at the theater. I have checked the 1972 soundtrack and it is not there. I am fairly certain it was a movie and not a play, but there was a song on the album that was something like "I can't be Mary" or something similar. I have long since lost the album having moved a lot as a child. Has anyone heard of this? I would love to find the music for my daughter.

This one isn't very difficult:

The Fiona Fullerton musical of 1972. My grandparents used to have the vinyl record of the soundtrack and I would listen to it as a child, but I can't remember it at all now. A good adaptation though. Hope this is the right one. Smile

Do you remember that particular song? I looked through the song list and didn't see anything that looked familiar as far as those lyrics go.

That one's on Netflix's Watch It Now library... I'm not sure if I'll have time today to scan through it, but maybe tomorrow...

Really? That would be great. I don't have netflix. I just want to make sure it is the right one before I buy it.

The words that you mentioned are from the song "The Last Word is Mine", which is sung by the White Rabbit and Alice.

Here's a link if you want to check:

That is exactly the song! I was only 6 when I saw this movie at the theater and it's amazing that, at 43, I remember most of the words! You made my day. Wow!
