^ we are on the same boat here... i'm waiting also (maybe the other guys too) for any new outcome of both movies... nothing so far bah! Disney tired

anyway... i will check if there is something been done by production.

oh so its gonna be performance-capture imagery... i thought it was stop motion animation. but yeah is going to be something like Beowulf and therefore is PCI.

That doesn't mean that it's canceled. It just means they're keeping some information under wraps for awhile. They do this often with movies that are still in pre-production.

My brother is working on the movie and he said Alice has been cast. He is a music supervisor for the movie and said there will be a press release about it on July 9th. The role was originally supposed to be Evan Rachel Woods but she backed out. Alice won't be played by a child but a 23 year old. From what I was told it's her first Burton movie, and her first big role in a film that will be released world wide. Tim wanted to cast someone who could portray a child but could also capture the odities of the story. My brother told me that the girl playing Alice is wonderful and Tim picked her very quickly. Filming is supposed to start in July with a press release with the entire cast on July 9th! I do know the actresses name but I don't want to type it here incase there is some kind of rights against that until the press release. You can EMail me at LexieJ81@gmail.com if you want more information on anything.

Disney frustrated ... i don't want to sound pessimistic but...ermmm... Alice in the story was 7 yrs old... and 10 when the story was told by LC on the rowing expedition. so from that to 23 is a big difference Confused .
IMO, Jodelle Ferland was perfect for the gig. she appears on "Tideland" by Terri Gilliam. or also there have to be a good child actor (best if she is from England cause of the accent) that can portrait Alice Uhmm ... maybe you can tell your brother to tell Mr. Burton to look for a good child actor as J. Ferland, jeje Wink

I was a little dissapointed at the age too. She is a pretty girl, my brother said Tim loved her and wanted someone that could portray a child but also show how odd the story is. Who knows....... I hope she does it good, they start filming on July 10th so she already has been signed to the film.

^ also my friend... if you can (maybe your brother) it would be awesome to tell Mr. Burton or anyone from production to visit Lenny's site... in particular the forum. i know that Tim Burton doesn't need a lot of help to put his imagination to work... but i think that all of us here, including you of course( the true Alice and LC fans) can help a lot concerning about what to put or not in the movie.

i have some good ideas that might help in the production as well as all the guys here that i know will put their "2 cents" on the matter. i mean... we can share our knowledge of the book to make the best Alice film version... i think i've made a post of things that are important on an Alice movie (i don't remember exactly were, but i know i have put something relating this, jeje).

anyway if u can make any contact with them would be gladly appreciated cause we are desperate for a better treatment to this classic written by none other than Charles Lutwidge Dodgson aka Lewis Carroll.

That is a big age difference, but at least it isn't Dakota Fanning or Lindsey Lohan playing Alice. Hopefully this will turn out okay, because if you really think about it how many non-animated Alices are the right age. TTLG with Kate Beckinsale is one of the best versions out there (in my opinion Smile ) and she's not the right age.

Thanks for the info Lexie!!!! Disney smile

^ is this her? http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2645940/resume

if it is she's very beautiful... at least in the pic. but... meh... am not convinced. I mean... a 23/24 yrs old blonde model... good to portrait Alice? Disney evil ... 'nuff said

maybe is my fault having alice as a child in my imagination and perspective. but well... who knows... maybe she pull it off nicely (hope so Uhmm ).

but again... a good child actress (there has to be one Disney confused ) is the way to go.

jeje, at least they aren't... but Dakota Fanning is not that bad but i know where you coming from... she seems like a "know-it-all kind of girl Disney tired

yah very true what you said about KB in TTLG... but c'mon there has to be someone in the whole wide world that can resemble Alice phisically as well as personal.
Fionna Fullerton in the '72 version was 15 at the time... IMO, she seems a little too big for the role but did a very nice job nonetheless...
anyway...lets then give a chance to Mrs. Parker and see what she can do (>_>)

Well, I don't worry about who they bring in, as long as they do a good job of the role.

Though I will admit the age is slightly worrying...but let's first see how it turns out.
