- Do not be deceived!I should have read the product 'description', what there is of it, much more carefully! There was I, thinking that this was a bona fide translation of Browning's great poem for children of all ages. How wrong I was. The author of the original doesn't even merit a mention. What I have in front of me is a pathetic half-hearted attempt at retelling the story that will excite no one. There is at least one gross typo and some 'non-standard' use of Russian. And how come the good people of Hamelin used the rouble as their unit of currency in the Middle Ages- surely the Moskali hadn't got as far at the time!? OK - the booklet is not expensive, but any potential buyer would be well-advised to buy an ice-cream for their child rather than this book. Don't waste effort on this!! I have given it one star because the system won't allow me to give it none.
