Rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars - not epic but a fun read
People looking for an epic graphic novel along the lines of DC comics "Kingdom Come" , "Watchmen", "Sandman" or "Preacher" will be disapointed ... a graphic novel has to fall into that range of quality before I give it 5 stars - it's possible that the other reviewers REALLY thought this graphic novel was that great and of course everyone's entitled to their own opinion.. however when I only see three reviews and each review has a five star rating I personally get a little bit suspicious as far as how objective the reviewers are being - I dunno, maybe it's just me. The other reviewers did do a good job of describing the "nuts and bolts" so to speak of this graphic novel so I only have a few thoughts I can add... just about everyone is familiar with the original "alice in wonderland" story and will recall that it pretty much doesn't make any sense , it's more of a fantastical fairy tale.... same thing applies here, don't look for a logical well thought out plotline... basically this is a creepy, horror-oriented revision of alice in wonderland set into the near (20th century) future and centered around alice's daughter returning to the nightmare that is wonderland... in order to REALLY appreciate and enjoy this graphic novel you must buy and read the previous graphic novel in this series, "tales of wonderland", ISBN-10: 0981755038 (also available from amazon)... It's a dark retelling of what most people consider to be a ho-hum children's classic and that to me makes it rather enjoyable... it's one of the few graphic novels I can recommend purchasing at the full retail price amazon sells for (along with "tales of wonderland")...

Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars - Grimm Fairy Tales Hardcover
If you want the ultimate in Grimm Fairy Tales from Zenescope Entertainment, then you want to get the hard cover edition of the comic book. There are two different sets of dust jacket cover art and both of them have the same contents as the comic book. In all this is the best 40 dollars you will spend on a hard cover graphic novel. The idea behind Grimm Fairy Tales was to rewrite many of the fairy tales that people grew up on, but bring them back to their original gritty hard core spin with a lot of buxom women, strong men, and truly evil bad persons throughout the series. It is fun to read because the characters are extraordinarily well drawn, and the story lines are stories that we grew up with as kids. Probably one of the best ways of looking at the original fairy tales that we grew up with, devoid of the Disney spin. Rapunzel was never like this when you were reading it as a kid. This puts a great spin on the entire fairy tale line, and Zenescope has really used this as their anchor comic book title to expand into other series and other ideas. The Grimm Fairy Tale series is well worth reading and owning because it is so well drawn and the story lines are so familiar with what we know. Of course we get the girls, the good person sometimes wins, and it just makes for good clean comic book reading fun for Mature Readers. This is not what you read to your kids, this is what you read for yourself. Overall highly rated and enjoyable, this is a great addition to any comic book collection, the Hard Cover version was wonderfully done, and will last a long time and through multiple readings. Just remember that there are two dust jackets, so get the version that you want to get.

Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars - Great storyline
This is definitely a great read. And here's why. It's dark, sexy, slightly twisted, beautifully drawn and inked, and it just sucks you in! I recommend this for both male and female readers. And for those of you who are trying to figure out what order to read these in, well here it is: Return to Wonderland 0-6 Annual 2009 The House of Liddle Beyond Wonderland 0-6 Escape from Wonderland (currently in progress. only the 0 issue is out so far) And finally the following (to be read in any order, these are just one shots for various characters): Tales from Wonderland 1-5 I know you all will enjoy it just as much as I have!

Rating: 5.0 out of 5 stars - Wonderland Wow
