- Paint away ...
When my Daughter turned four last year, she opted for a tea party and in my search for a do-it-yourself project that the girls in attendance could do, I happened upon this paint & pretend set. The age range was slightly older than the age of the girls attending but I took my chances. The cup and saucer are very durable and the process of painting was very easy to follow. I bought about 5-6 in total so each girl would have one. We just had to be a tad careful b/c the girls had on little tea party dresses but they enjoyed it and the sets were cute. It took quite awhile to find these sets but I would definitely recommend ...

- Best Arts & Crafts Gift but Not Useable for Real Food
I agree with everyone about this product, except for the paint (we had enough & it wasn't too thick). My daughter loved doing this (over a few days) and she was thrilled to have a real ceramic (still breakable) tea set. BUT you can not put liquid in the cups if they were painted inside -- or outside for that matter. My daughter painted the entire cup inside and out. THe paint easily came off with the water sitting in the cup (and so I am not sure why we baked it!). That was disapointing as she wanted to have a real tea party. The directions note that the paint becomes permanent, but they recommend decorative only. I thought that it was just CYA on their part and didn't think the paint would actually come off. Perhaps it's just me and others didn't assume so much. So, don't soak the painted items in water as the paint will lift off. This is the only reason I didn't give this 5 stars. Storage note: we saved the box to store the pieces so they didn't get broken. Age Note: my daugter is 6-1/2; she's very girly & loves art projects, so this was a perfect gift for her.

My daughter received this toy as a gift, and we love it! I saved it for her to paint as a rainy day activity, and she had a great time painting it. Now, she enjoys using it as her own special tea set. We liked it so much that we bought it to give to other kids as birthday presents. I think the toy recommends that it be for kids aged 7 or 8 and up, but my 4 year old was fine painting this with my supervision and assistance. This is a great toy!

This was a great gift. My 5-year old niece loves to draw and paint. She spent the entire day designing and painting her new tea set. This is great for any young girl who enjoys crafts and being creative. Plus, it will be a great keepsake for her parents or for her when she is older and can pass it on to her daughter.

I GOT THIS 3 YEARS AGO FROM SANTA I AM A 12 YEAR OLD GIRL I LOVED THIS SET SO MUCH EVERY LITTLE GIRL WILL ENJOY THIS!!!!!!!! IT IS VERY CREATIVE AND VERY MUCH LADY LIKE!!!!!!!! I THINK THAT EVERY LITTLE GIRL SHOULD HAVE THERE OWN TEA SET THAT THEY CAN PAINT THEM SELVES!!!!!!!!!!! I LOVE EVERY PRODUCT FROM CREATVE FOR KIDS!!!!!
