Soundtrack from American McGee's Alice in Wonderland game
Amazon.com:
Chris Vrenna's soundtrack to the American McGee's Alice video game is fittingly twisted. Sounds created with toy instruments and percussion, music boxes, clocks, doors, and sampled female voices (including Jack Off Jill singer Jessicka) are manipulated into nightmarish soundscapes. A harpsichord and a clock ticking over a bed of rhythmic effects invoke a sense of Victorian horror, while also playing off of modern motifs. Fans of the game and connoisseurs of dark and spooky music will be delighted by Vrenna's surreal score. --Bryan Reesman
Album Description:
With the soundtrack to American McGee's Alice, Electronic Arts' new video game, Chris Vrenna (formerly of Nine Inch Nails) provides musical menace to accompany the heroine's adventures in a Wonderland gone to hell. The sounds of dilapidated toys and ghostly machinery converge with the haunting ambient electro-soundscape produced and composed by Vrenna.

- Childishly TwistedI love the way Chris incorporated familar childhood sounds. He took the "tink-tink-tink" of wind-up toys or other sounds that may have brought entertainment and pleasure during childhood, then warped it enough to make it eerie. It is very fitting for a misunderstood and slightly pyschotic Alice. It makes you think of a disturbed child which is exactly what American McGee's Alice is, disturbed child-like minded young-adult... going on a card killing rampage, but with the full intent of "saving" the Wonderland she was knew and loved. My favorite is the Village of the Doomed and Fortress of Doors is good as well, while The Funhouse actually gives me the creeps. Vrenna did an excelent job setting the tone for this game. I hope he scares the next one as well!

- good soundtrackthe oddest video game soundtrack I own, and one of the most original. it's a very eerie listening experience. I bought it on Halloween and decided it would make for perfect creepy music to play. I definately recommend it.

- Weird, eerie, interesting music from a cool gameThis cd contains great music from the beautiful, eerie game "American McGee's Alice". Anyone who loved the game would probably love this CD as well. The game was beautifully rendered and amazing, and the music is great art in its own right.

- I love this game...I have had this game since 2001, played it and STILL playing with it. I play it from time to time just because I miss the great characters. I know Sarah M Geller is slated for the movie and as much as I love her, I have to say Emma Roberts would be a much better choice and I am the biggest Buffy fan. Emma is younger plus after watching Nancy Drew the other day I noticed how much she looks like Alice. So listen up powers that be...
