- IS messyI would give it 5 stars if it wasn't for 2 things: - the manufacturer claims it's mess free. However it left gluey coat all over the table that only came out after I sprayed it with GlueOff and let it stay for 5 minutes or so. Soap and water won't work, so don't let your toddler play with it where couldn't wash it off afterwords. - Just a thing to consider. The tiny little balls mix up right away so if you want to make something colorful every time it won't work, you will have to buy more stuff. And then it really wouldn't matter if the mixed "foams" dried out or not. Otherwise it is lots of fun.

- MehI bought this for my son for Christmas because it was a great price and seemed like something he would really enjoy since he's into playdough. I couldn't have been more wrong. The packaging makes it look like you can mold all these amazing shapes with it. I guess if you spent hours upon hours you could make that happen...but a 4 year old won't stick around long enough for that (and neither would I). He's only played with the foam ONE time and has lost interest in it completely. It basically just ended up being a waste of money. I should have just bought more playdough.

- The good and the badMy six-year-old granddaughter had great fun with this foam during the afternoon she received it, but future play is questionable. She is so delighted with her creation, she doesn't want to take it apart. Assuming the foam doesn't dry out (doesn't seem like it will), she may be willing to disassemble the scene at some future point for another play session, but right now it's a display piece. The texture of the foam does indeed feel a lot like Rice Krispy treats in the making, but less sticky so it doesn't make a mess. We didn't have any problem with it sticking to anything other than itself. I few beads ended up somewhere they shouldn't be, but weren't hard to retrieve, so cleanup was very easy. It is a satisfying tactile experience to create shapes and creatures and just squeeze the stuff. On the downside, unless this sweet child is interested in taking her cute scene apart, it was a one-time play event. Also, the colors become intermingled quite easily. It is possible to painstakingly separate them bead by bead, but I'm not sure any of us have time for that. Future play sessions (should they occur) will be limited to mixed colors. Some children, particularly younger ones, won't mind this and will just enjoy squeezing the stuff and trying different shapes. We had a lot of fun with the foam, but it remains to be seen if it will elicit any future play. I think younger children might be more willing to have it all stashed back in the box for another go later, but I wouldn't recommend it for younger than a mature three-year-old because it does take some hand strength to form the shapes.

- Play Foam FunI wasn't sure what this product would be like, but in reading the reviews about how it wasn't messy, I thought we'd give it a try. Its very neat! My son is 6 years old and likes to pretend he's making rice krispie treats with it. Which is really almost what it feels like, though it doesn't leave a sticky residue on your hands. Its quite easy to make some neat things with it, we've made a tree, snowman dog, pig, goldfish and very neat looking duck so far! The only thing I would note, if you put the colors together, like you would to make most animals, its impossible to get all the little beads of one color off the other, even if you're careful not to forcefully "smoosh" them together. But, thats minor, really. Its good, creative fun!

- AwesomeThis foam is like the styrofoam packagings but in little balls. They give a pretty nice amount in each color. I am amazed how it won't dry out or stick to anything I put it on. It feels sticky when molding it, but they only stick to each other. This is a great toy!
