Album Description:
Fearless is the 2008 sophomore album from Taylor Swift, the young Country singer/songwriter who charmed the hearts and charts of America beginning with her debut single 'Tim McGraw'. Her triple-platinum self-titled debut release has scanned over 3.4 million units and spent more weeks at #1 than any other Country album this year: 24 weeks! Taylor is the only Country female artist to have five Top 10 singles from a debut album and the only Country female vocalist this decade to reach the Top 5 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart. Needless to say, she's a sensation that has only just begun to show what she is capable of. 13 tracks including the single 'Love Story' and 'Change', first heard during the 2008 Summer Olympics. --This text refers to the Audio CD edition.

- A Sad Day for MusicI bought FEARLESS hoping Taylor Swift had gone to the next level.. but sadly, the cd is full of simple, teen-pop songs that really have no substance or timeless quality. Let's all get real - Taylor is just another pop product that is today's flavor of the month... how can she be a "brilliant" songwriter when most of her lyrics feature lines like "I'm on the bleachers, you're on the dancefloor"... "he wore a grey sweatshrit to the prom", etc. The fact that FEARLESS won a grammy for Album of the Year is an embarrassment to the entire music industry and a slap in the face to other talented country/pop artists, most notably Carrie Underwood (who is the total package: incredible voice, talent, power, grace, who sings about meaningful and emotionsl topics from "So Small" to the recent "Change" and Temporar Home"). Yes, I bought this cd like millions of others, but America is being duped into believing Taylor has talent, when in fact, she is really no different than Miley or Selena Gomez... a expertly calculated star appealing to young female fans. The reason Taylor won't perform on the same stage (show) as Carrie Underwood is becaue she would be blown off the stage !! One question: how can FEARLESS win Album of the Year when CARNIVAL RIDE did not... even though CR sold 3mm records, 5 #1 singles, and featuring an incredible variety of songs and styles all done perfectly. This truly is a sad day in music but the real travesty is all those grammys cannot be taken back... go Team Underwood.

- Amazing...Admittedly, this was going to be a guilty pleasure for me, but hearing is believing! Much more than just another "singing cutie," Taylor's band, writing ability and vocal talents all add up to a big hit. Highly recommended!

- She can't be serious. As one of my patients said the other day, "am I the only one who notices that Taylor Swift cannot sing?" When I first heard this girl on TV a couple years back, I thought I was catching a parody show. Surely no one singing that poorly and off-key was being serious. Of course now I know she is, indeed, singing "seriously" and that there was no joke intended. The Grammy Awards, obviously, aren't handed out based on talent. They are given each year to singers who-- usually due to being most heavily promoted-- have received popularity and high sales. (A quick review into previous years' winners show an unfortunate tendency to award "artists" who later fizzle out as one-hit wonders. Check for yourself-- the list of winners is hilarious in hindsight.) That said, it's still sad that the public will continue to think they like someone based on that person being marketed and shoved down their throat incessantly. "You say Taylor Swift is the new big thing? Oh... ok.... hey, yeah, I like her! And I think she's SOOOOO talented!" I do find some humor in the album's title. Surely this young woman IS quite fearless in her willingness to stand in front of people and sing her heart out when hitting the notes is such a struggle. Not everyone has a set of pipes to write home about, but 9 out of 10 people in the room can remain on key singing Happy Birthday. Taylor Swift will always be that 10th person in the room, always not quite hitting the notes, but doing her best to try, anyway. Bless her heart for tryin', this fearless little thing, but good lord, what a painful experience for the rest of us who aren't tone deaf. I look forward to the day her 15 minutes are up.

- Good CD and I don't even listen to countryI don't even listen to country music. I mostly listen to R&B and rap. However when I heard Taylor's songs on the radio I became a fan right away and wanted to hear more. I really like this cd and it's the only country CD i own.

- Great!Great price for a CD with so many good songs. I haven't bought a CD in forever, but I thought this one was very reasonable. I stopped buying them because they got to be $25-30+ and only had one or two favorites on them. Oh and again, Taylor >> all.
