This version of Lewis Carroll's story was originally produced for NBC-TV. It also contains elements from 'Through the Looking Glass' (which are mixed up with those from 'Alice's Adventures...').
The storyline is not very true to the books, but the film has some great special effects, many dealing with multiple perspectives as Alice constantly changes sizes.

British all-star musical (a significant part of the story is expressed through song and sometimes dance) adaptation which is very true to the book, except for the fact that Alice doesn't meet the Cheshire Cat and that Tweedle Dum & Dee are in it.

This theater production of Alice in Wonderland is based on a famous production from the 1930s.
All the sets and costumes are meticulously based on the illustrations from the original books.
The story line is a mix of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass.

A co-French/British production, also known as 'Alice au pays des merveilles'.
The movie was suppressed by Disney to protect their own production.
It's an adaptation of Lewis Carroll's book with a live Alice moving through painted sets and pixilated puppets.
The movie is more true to the book than the Disney movie.
This adaptation of Alice in Wonderland mixes animation and live action to create a dreamlike world, but it is not simply a kid's film.
Alice watches a stuffed and mounted rabbit come to life in her playroom and follows it through a magical drawer into a strange world that resembles a 19th-century toy store come to life.
Svankmajer (the director) uses familiar objects in unfamiliar ways, giving a fantasy quality to the banal (and the not so banal) while tipping the dream logic to the edge of nightmare. The movie may have a somewhat disturbing effect on the viewer.
starring: Coral Browne, Ian Holm, Peter Gallagher, Nicola Cowper, Jane Asher
directed by: Gavin Millar
Dark fantasy story about the real Alice, who is invited to New York at the age of 80 to attend the celebrations for Carroll's centenary.
She is unable to understand all the fuss, and she is being confronted once again with her own repressed memories of her childhood with Carroll.
The film uses flashbacks and dreams in which we see how fascinated Carroll was with the little Alice.
Written by Dennis Potter, and Jim Henson's Creature Shop provided the Wonderland characters.
I liked the movie, but I think it suggested too strongly a sexual aspect in Carroll's love for Alice. The puppets also look somewhat 'dead', but this may be intentional.
The Czech Philharmonic Orchestra performs the music of Viktor Kalabis in this adaptation of Lewis Carroll's story.
This performance blends ballet, mime, acrobatics and theater. The video is only 27 minutes long.
The story doesn't seem to be very true to the book, and there are some new characters in it.
The costumes and make-up are very much in the vein of "cirque de soleil".
