Alice in Wonderland clock

I just received this Alice in Wonderland themed clock in the mail. It is so beautiful that I want to show it to you!

The clock was mady by RubyAliceandMe, through a technique called ‘decoupage’. It has colorized illustrations from Through the Looking Glass on the front and on the sides, and there is a checker pattern on the inside. The clock actually works; it uses a battery.

I think the images and colors are very well chosen, as are the roman numbers on the clock face. Although this clock is not similar to the one that is on the mantlepiece besides Alice in Tenniel’s illustration, I do feel like this type clock could go there, and it also resonates with the element of time in Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.

The only downside of the item is that the border on the front is stretched too much horizontally, causing it to look out of proportion, and it is enlarged so much that it looks grainy if you take a close look at it.

Still, I love the clock and it makes me happy every time I see it.

Doesn’t it look great between my collection of Alice in Wonderland books?

The clock is available through RubyAliceandMe’s Etsy store, where you can find more Alice in Wonderland themed clocks and other items, like a tea tin.

(Until now I didn’t really post about Alice in Wonderland merchandise which isn’t one-on-one related to the Alice in Wonderland books or very popular Alice movies, because there’s just too many of it. But I’ve decided that from now on, I will show you items I like so much that I want to own them. That sounds like a great selection criterium, right? 🙂 )
