National Alice In wonderland day?

Postby Said the caterpiller » Thu Jun 19, 2008 1:05 am

Totally crazy thought, but all the members of the site should start a National Alice in wonderland day! We could put on all of our Alice tshirts, our jewelry and play the Disney movie AIW soundtrack and just show our family and friends around us our love for the book and movie! You could even organize your own little mad tea party to celebrate. hah!

Also, For Lewis Carrolls birthday, we should do the same! and just do anything we can do honor him. Watch the disney movie, read his poems or parts of his books, wear his character related tshirts and jewelry, etc!

AIW:-) DIS:-) AIW:-D DIS:-S AIW(:-* DIS>:-( AIW:-. DIS:-/

I'd love to see an National Alice Day, but I suspect the best we could manage would be a Wonderland Convention.

Good idea. It would be nice to have something fun to do on Lewis carroll's birthday, since end January is just about the dreariest time of year when you definitely feel like some fun. Let's think about it after next christmas! Jenny

I think Alice in wonderland with its popularity over the years starting back in the 18oo's. People making there own creations and movies from it. I think there should be an Alice in Wonderland Day. It would be great.

i just love anythin that helps get the word of the books out...i know the disney movie did a great job but there are still alot of people who love the movie but have no idea its a book...i think caroll should be a more recognizable name and a holiday would certainly help DIS:-) DIS|-p

Why do you say it should be May 4th?

It was my first thought as well! I mean.. 4th of may...

Since it would become an 'Alice in Wonderland' day and Alice Liddell her birthday would be the best choice of course...

And if it wouldn't be Liddell's birthday it should be the one of Carroll... In my opinion then... ; )

We have a date here in the USA called Independence Day, and it falls on the day that Rev. Dodgson first told the story: July 4th. So while those of us celebrate with fireworks and parades our day of freedom, the rest of you can dress as Alice and what not...

That's the date Alice's Adventures in Wonderland takes place on, which happens to be the birthday of Alice Liddell.
