Best: Mine is the 1972 "Alice's adventures in Wonderland" (check my avatar DIS:-) ). Fiona Fullerton gave an excellent portrayal. As an example, check her puzzlement when trying to remember “How Does the Buzzy Bee” in the Caterpillar scene

Also, not only is it the closest to book I know of, but it adds to it at times. In the trial scene, when the king asks the question “What are tarts made of?”
In the book: `Pepper, mostly,' said the cook.
In the film, the cook shouts:
“Pepper, Pepper, Pepper!”
“Some White to give you a fright”
“Some brown to get the tears running down!”
“Some red to wish you were dead!”

As for the Disney 1951 film. I would hate to have Walt Disney as a bridge partner. He can’t tell the difference between Spades and Hearts, Now, as a poker opponent though…

And the Tim Burton movies. They do not exist as "Alice in Wonderland" films as far as I am concerned. AIW:-.

In Walt's defence, John Tenniel doesn't seem too good with that either. Compare his depiction of the Queen with an actual Queen of Hearts card... and then the Queen of Spades!
