I've seen this quote,

“Alice came to a fork in the road. 'Which road do I take?' she asked.
'Where do you want to go?' responded the Cheshire Cat.
'I don't know,' Alice answered.
'Then,' said the Cat, 'it doesn't matter.”

come up a lot when I search for Alice in wonderland quotes and I've red that this is an incorrect quote but I was wondering does anyone know if it has been used in any of the movies etc? I understand that it is written differently in the book.

If anyone can shed some light it would be greatly appreciated!

I've seen the version you've posted as a quotation lots of times (mostly on tumblr) but it's not from the book and I don't think it's from any of the movie versions

I think someone was just paraphrasing, it got attributed to Carroll, and the internet has spread it

(It annoys me loads ~ I keep wanting to tell people, "That's not Carroll!" >:( )

Thank you, yea I thought that might have been the case. I just really like the "incorrect" version and was hoping it had been used somewhere, you know just to make it a little more legit!

Carroll also didn't write this variation on the same theme:
