The little square thing on the outside

Postby jenny2write » Sun Aug 17, 2008 3:09 pm

Anyoneelse find it a bit difficult to scroll up and down without the little square thing on the edge of the outside? I don't know what it's even called but you grab it on most sites and pull it down and it takes you to the bit of the page you want to go. I find it confusing using my up and down keys to roll up and down this site to find the bit I want. Maybe I should write to Lenny and suggest that he puts in one of those little squares?
Or is it just me that finds it a bit hard?
Or is it something to do with the way I have my computer configured....?

I'm also having a hard time with my scroll bar today. Maybe you should inform Lenny.

This has nothing to do with Alice so I moved the topic to the Feedback subforum.

On the right side of your browser there should be a scrollbar (which is probably what you are referring to). You may be overlooking it because you expect it to see in the page itself, before the end of the 'book'? Or perhaps you have a browser version in which this site isn't displayed correctly?

I am currently working on a redesign of the website, and it will have a more obvious scrollbar in it.

Scrollbar

Yes, I have discovered a tiny sliver of it by expanding the page as big as it will go. It doesn't display properly, you are right.
Thanks Lenny. I will look forward to the redesign. And I wil try and make sure that this tiny sliver displays as it is just big enough to use if I position my mouse accurately.
Best wishes, Jenny

Could you tell me what screen resolution you are using on your computer (for example 800x600 of 1024x800) and what browser version (like Internet Explorer 7 or Firefox 3)?

If possible, could you post or send me a screenshot of how the website is displayed on your computer?

Hi Lenn
I asked my husband to take a look at it (he is the IT specialist in our home) and he has adjusted it properly. it's OKay now. Thank you for taking the trouble to think about it. Do you still want me to do anything about it? I think that it was my computer not your site.
Thanks, Jenny
