Well, here's my list so far:

1) Alice- Evanna Lynch. A dreamy, otherworldly (and did I mention Irish?) dream-child.
2)The March Hare- Dylan Moran. If you have seen him in Black Books, then you'll know why I chose him for the role.
3)The Caterpillar- David Bowie. In his hands, the role of the caterpillar would become weird, strange, psychadelic and surreal.
4)The Hatter- I'm not sure. Perhaps Alice Cooper? He's kind of odd, isn't he?
5)The White Knight- That man who was the original Dumbledore before he died. He is old, kind and has blue eyes.
6)The Dodo- Kelsey Gramer. He is good at portraying pompous, intellectual characters.
7)The Queen of Hearts- Miranda Richardson. She is good at playing spoilt, murderous monarchs.
8)The King of Hearts- John Cleese.
9)The Knave- Eric Idle.
10)Mary-Anne- Christina Ricci. She is very kooky, so I think she should have some part in the film.
I shall list the rest later, after I have thought a bit more about it.

*Peeks down rabbit hole where this thread is* May I post my ideas here?

Sometimes I like to think of what would happen if I had been chosen to cast people for Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (this is allowed, right?):

I remember seeing a picture of the British model/actress Lily Cole where she had blonde hair, and I thought of Alice. She has a very light-hearted English accent and baby-doll facial features that could work well for the role. As for the Mad Hatter...I'd be rather tempted to have Benedict Cumbersnatch . For the White Queen maybe Christina Ricci. I don't know, just some ideas.

I'm working on the rest hahaha. :p

Edit: Ooh, ooh, ooh I got it! Queen of Hearts: Emily Blunt.

What about Hugh Laurie? From Blackadder? I think he'd be an ok Hatter.

Okay here goes....
Alice: I agree Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood) would be a good Alice.
Mad Hatter: Steve Carell or Jim Carey (they are both mad, especially Jim Carey) or maybe even my favorite musician EVER "Weird Al" Yankovic
Queen of Hearts: Julie Dawn Cole (Veruca Salt)
Caterpillar: Bill Murray (hasn't he got that bored languid voice)
White Knight: I agree the guy who played Dumbledore would be great, but since he is dead we'll have to settle for the new one.
King of Hearts: Mel Brooks
March Hare: Paul Reubons (Pee-Wee Herman)
Cheshire cat: Jack Nicholson (he proved in Batman that he could be crazy and have a great grin)

To be honest, I just think Hugh Laurie would be a great Hatter, despite how many people disagree with me. I really can see him as the part.
As for the Dodo, I think Gramer would Americanise the whole thing as bit, so perhaps Stephen Fry would be a better choice.
(Though I think Bebe Neuwirth would make an ok Red Queen).

I amn't very familiar with House. I just know him from 'Blackadder', when he was Prince George.

I can definitely see Hugh Laurie as the Hatter. He pretty much has the face for it already! DIS:-) And wasn't he great as Prince George in Blackadder? The third was definitely my favourite series!!!!!!!!! And he totally nailed the character of Bertie Wooster in the 'Jeeves and Wooster' series. Stephen Fry was hilarious too.

Yes, the face was definitely a selling point for me. As well as his over-the-top stupidity and arrogance!

Your Dream "Wonderland" Cast

Postby Lewis Carrie » Mon Nov 07, 2011 1:25 am

I know it is not Wonderland but who would you cast for a biopic about Lewis Carroll? I always think of people who are not quite the right ages in relation to each other. It must be incredibly hard to cast a movie.
Here is my list:

Lewis Carroll: Johnny Depp

Alice Liddell: Dakota Fanning

Dean Henry Liddell: Mark Harmon

Edwin Dodgson (Carroll's younger brother): Daniel Radcliffe

Carroll's father: David McCallum

And for Carroll's sisters:

Frances: Helena Bonham Carter

Elizabeth: Emma Watson

Caroline: Cote de Pablo

Louisa: Pauley Perette (not sure if I spelled it right)

(As you can see, I'm a huge fan of NCIS!)

I'll think of more

I think that the best actor of all time that they could have gotten to play Carroll would have been Sterling Holloway. It's too bad he's dead, he would have made a good Carroll back in the early 1930's when it was the centenary of Carroll's birth.
