What an unusual and imaginitive question!
Well, there should be the dark, rich reds and innocent whites of a rose, and the dark, dreamy, trancelike blues of a caterpillar. But, I think that what is most important is that there should be a contrast between colours, like the patterns of a chessboard, making one thing the negative of the other. And use colours that give a kind pf 'punk Victorian' feel.
