Lewis Carroll's belongings

Postby AlexLowry » Fri Mar 02, 2012 12:12 am

I was scrolling on tumblr some times ago and I found this picture followed by a caption:

Image

“The Trappings of the late Charles Dodgson, also known as the writer Lewis Carroll. A collection of bizarre flora and fauna contained within a large sturdy travel case.”

I've heard about Charles Dogdson's interest for natural curiosities but I had never seen anything like that before. Did anyone saw this picture somewhere else? I'd like to know if those skulls and drawings really were in his possesion.

I had a look at his site and I think I rather like his stuff - at least, I like the aesthetic of it

It is a really neat photo. I guess it could be tied into a darker version of Alice though lol.

I agree...It does have that Victorian Gothic / grimmification thing going on doesn't it.
