Help identifying an odd version of the 1917 cutout Alice's Adventures

Postby buzze40 » Fri May 07, 2021 6:06 pm

Im trying to identify an edition of Alice's Adventures I found.

It is the 1917 edition by Cupples and Leon but it doesnt look like any of the ones I see online.

All the ones online have a cream cover with bright colors and what looks like a soft binding. mine is a darker tan bound hardcover, The picture is the same but smaller and the font is a bit different. The only colors are red, yellow an black, the rest of the pciture is just tan cloth and the words and picctures are embossed into the cover.

Another difference is on the back of the title page there are two figures handing over an envelope and below it says Copywright 1917 by
Cupples and Leon Company

Every version Ive seen then says "Printed in the U.S.A" below that. Mine does not.

Is this an early printing? Later printing? Not printed in the US?

Any help appreciated

thanks
